Does the ventilation layer of fake double-layer umbrellas leak?
No. The umbrella uses 190T polyester fabric for the canopy. The ventilation layer just helps move wind around.
It doesn’t mess with how well it keeps water out—so yeah, it works totally fine if it’s lightly raining or even a moderate rain.
Which is more durable: automatic or manual umbrellas?
Like, usually manual umbrellas have a simpler structure, so they don’t break down as much as automatic ones.
But automatic ones are pretty good too—their buttons use copper contacts, and they still work smooth even after you press ‘em 1000 times.
They’ll last 3 to 5 years if you use ‘em normally; just pick whichever fits what you need.
How do I clean stains from the umbrella canopy?
Got mud stains? Just take a soft cloth, dip it in clean water, and wipe the canopy. Don’t scrub with a hard brush—’cause that’ll ruin the waterproof coating.
Small oil stains? Gently wipe ‘em with a cloth dipped in diluted neutral laundry detergent, then rinse that spot with clean water. When you dry it, don’t leave it in direct sun—too much sun makes the canopy get old and brittle.
And we don’t suggest soaking the whole umbrella in water to clean it, ‘cause that might make the ribs not resist rust as well.
Can the umbrella canopy block the sun? Which canopy fabric has the best sun protection?
Regular canopy fabrics have basic sun protection, but the effect varies. 190T polyester and 190T pongee fabrics focus mainly on water resistance—their sun protection factor (UPF) is about 30+, which blocks some UV rays.
Silver-coated and black-coated fabrics have a reflective layer, with UPF up to 50+—they block over 98% of UV rays, making them suitable for scenarios where you need the umbrella to keep out rain on rainy days and block the sun on sunny days.
If you only use it on rainy days, regular fabric is fine; if you want one umbrella for both purposes, prioritize styles with sun protection coating.
